My name is Wilson Mateos and I am a Brazilian copywriter, creative director, and film director. Currently, I've been running my own creative shop, called 11:11, The Challenger Company.
But I was a big agency animal for a while. I ran the creative department of Leo Burnett Tailor Made Brazil as VP Creative/ ECD. That was after my American Tour, where I was a CD at David & Goliath (Kia Motors) and 180LA (University of Phoenix). Before my big international adventure, I spent more than 25 years in the largest and most creative agencies in Brazil. I was a copywriter at FCB, Lew Lara TBWA, F/Nazca Saatchi & Saatchi, and AlmapBBDO; and was a creative director at NeogamaBBH, Y&R, DM9DDB, and CuboCC.
I have worked for large clients such as Unilever, FIAT, Samsung, Heineken, Volkswagen, Audi, Renault, Toyota, AMBEV, Diageo, Pepsi, Visa, Mizuno, Mondelez, Itaú Bank. If you are interested in seeing a list of awards that I have won, you can click on the link above.
Outside the agency, my main interests are heavy metal music, Harley Davidson motorcycles, craft beer, street photography, drones, G.I. Joe action figures, skateboarding, Japanese manga, Japanese history, samurai movies, motorcycle club culture, and TV series. Ok, maybe it’s time for me to create a website for my hobbies too. :)
